One Choice Today
At a pretend shop, Milo has three paper tokens and two fun ideas. Help him compare, choose and name what waits.
Start mission
What we practice
- Compare two choices using what matters for today’s activity.
- Choose one option without treating the other choice as bad.
- Name what waits when the same tokens cannot do both.
Practice One Choice Without Real Spending
Use paper tokens and drawings so the child can compare choices without carrying family money worries.
What matters to you about each choice? If one waits, does that make it a bad idea?
1. Draw two enjoyable activities and give the child three paper tokens; set each drawing at two or three tokens. 2. Let the child compare, point, ask questions or skip. More than one choice may be reasonable. 3. Name what waits without shame or a promise to buy later. Keep real budgets and unmet needs with adults; do not use food, affection or necessities as rewards.
