Check What Changed
Nova tests the finished route and stops at the wrong fork. Help the team compare the model with the picture plan, fix one mismatch and finish without blame.
Start mission
What we practice
- Compare what happened with a visible plan before changing everything.
- Name one mismatch and choose one useful adjustment.
- Ask for help, pause or accept a good-enough result without blaming anyone.
Try a No-Blame Check
Model checking a result as information, while keeping help, pauses and “good enough” available.
What did the stopped test tell the team? Why was one small change easier to check than many changes?
1. Build a small model together from three picture cards. Tell the child this is a pretend checking game. 2. Change one harmless detail openly, then place the model beside the cards and look one part at a time. Accept speech, pointing or matching. 3. Ask, “What is one useful change? Do we want help, a pause or to leave it good enough?” Do not hide changes to catch the child, label errors as careless or require completion. Adults manage safety and frustration in real tasks.
